Even Facts can be Biased.

It was in the news early this year that Ezra Klein would be leaving the Washington Post to run new type of news site called Vox.
We’ll have regular coverage of everything from tax policy to True Detective, but instead of letting that reporting gather dust in an archive, we’ll use it to build and continuously update a comprehensive set of explainers of the topics we cover. We want to create the single best resources for news consumers anywhere.

Being pitched as website dedicated to only supplying hard facts and numbers is an interesting idea in comparison to the amount of hyper partisanship on most news outlets. However, so far the fellows over at Vox have given an interesting example of how can still supply slanted news and biased opinions under the guise of only supplying statistics. Last week Vox put out a story touting the possibility of having a single payer health care system in Vermont, while it did mention the fact that Vermont needs to come up with nearly two billion in new revenue…they portray it as a great idea. The linked article in this post recommends a 90% tax on salaries over 10 million, the justification is that it would be fairer, backed up by some graphics and the argument that we tax tobacco alot.

It is disappointing that type of propaganda passes as unbiased.
