The Left wing has to get inventive in ways to distract from the Benghazi Scandal, this time they are comparing it to the attacks in Beirut in the 80s during Ronald Reagan’s presidency. While they are similar in some aspects, terrorist attacks and Americans dying. The events are widely different in other aspects. The the attacks in Beirut were very quick bombings, not prolonged ground assaults on buildings. There was no chance to call to send help in Beirut, the attacks lasted only moments compared to the hours in Libya.
But the most striking difference is clearly highlighted in the article itself.
Reagan, who was tormented by a tape of Buckley being tortured, blamed himself.
Notice it doesn’t say the Reagan blamed a Youtube video. In the aftermath of the attacks in Beirut the Reagan administration was straight forward with the American people and their Representatives. The Obama Admin has taken the opposite approach, they have misled and lied from day one and to this day continue to be dishonest and evasive on the issue. If Obama had followed Reagan’s example and dealt with the American people honestly, he wouldn’t still be dealing with this issue.
