On November 4th, the American people sent an overwhelming message to the political class, that they were fed up with partisan workings of Washington.
Immediately following the election, I saw numerous leading figures of the GOP writing and talking about living up to expectations and making honest efforts to get the nation on a respectable course.
The Democrats seem to have understood this election as a mandate to continue the course on their unreasonable partisanship.
First, came Obama’s day after speech were he seemed to claim victory for himself and his vision. Then decided to devote his time to securing an unfavorable Climate Treaty with the Chinese. While there might be some varying views on what the voters were worried about on election day…you can be assured that global warming was not high on their list. But that won’t stop Obama from trying to save us from ManBearPig.
Quickly on the heels of this impressive piece of nonsense came the revealing video clips of Jon Gruber speaking about Obamacare. To be fair, these videos are from some time ago. But the message is the same, Obamacare is a misleading piece of legislation from the getgo. As always the Left refuses the entertain any debate on the topic, better to just ignore it for awhile and then claim it is old news.
Meanwhile in Congress, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bitterly clung to their ever shrinking power. More humble people might see that their time has come and graciously slip out of sight before they bring anymore embarrassment upon themselves and their party. But not these two, they are sticking around for as long as humanly possible.
Congress also witnessed another sad act of personal ambition as Mary Landrieu tried to save her seat in the Senate with a last minute vote on the Keystone Pipeline. The antics playing out in the national legislature would be comical if it wasn’t also so sad.
Finally we are left with the looming decree from the White House that will forever change the immigration laws of our country. Even though President Obama has repeatedly said that such action is beyond his legal reach, he is now going for it. Apparently breaking the law is ok, as long as you wait awhile to do it.
In the face of defeat, the Democrats have doubled down on their own special brand of crazy egoism and seem intent on rendering the government as untrustworthy as they possibly can.
